I like to use the brand iceberg illustration below to show the difference between the brand expression (ie. what your customers see) and your brand strategy (ie. What you want your brand to say and accomplish that differentiates you from your competitors)
At Next Levels Health, my strategy sessions involve me asking you a series of questions to understand you and what you are trying to build in your practice, such as:
1. What’s the main goal behind your practice?
2. Why are you doing this?
3. What are your values and ways of working?
4. Who are the competitors in your space and how are you different?
I always treat brands like people and give them a personality and human attribute. Think to yourself, if your practice were a person, how would she look, sound, and act like? Then ask yourself, who are the patients you are trying to attract? What do they need from your practice, and what promotions would they respond best to? The objective of branding is not just for them to do business with you, but also to become long term patrons of your services. Insights about you, combined with insights about them, will shape your brand identity. When your brand identity connects both parties, that’s when you know you’ve got an extraordinary brand on your hands!
